1.4 Additional Settings
As indicated previously, additional settings are possible in 3-Person mode. These are widely-played options generally not permitted under the official rules.
Bock rounds (also called Anger Rounds) are normally played after specific events and usually consist of three hands. During a Bock round, scores are doubled. Also use this menu to set the specific events after which a Bock round is played.
In order to make the 3-Person play more interesting, one can set an automatic end to the play at which point the ranking of the players is determined. One can end either after a specific point total has been reached or after a specific number of hands. When a specific number of hands is selected, one can also choose to have a time limit. In addition, one can also designate a specific number of hands that must be played by each player (required solos). If a particular player fails to play the required number of hands within the specified number of hands (or time limit) s/he will be forced to play the required number at the end.
Note: Setting time limits and required games is available only with Rasche's Skat 5.0 & 6.0 or higher.
Pub Skat is a different kind of game. It is commonly played in pubs and bars and differs from other game types in the scoring. If the soloist wins, the value of the game is subtracted from the score of each opponent. If the Soloist loses, then the value is subtracted from his or her score as usual. The loser is usually the first player to reach or exceed -501 (-540, for example), although this value can be changed. Typically, the loser is obligated to buy a round of beer.
